Electronic Components Supplier to Automotive OEMs
Client Objective : A Global Management Meeting decided that the future strategy was to convert all Product Centres to become World Class Manufacturing facilities.
To achieve this, Lean Manufacturing was introduced at one of our Redditch facilities with the guidance and expertise of Consulting Principles.
The Delivery : Consulting Principles started with the education and training required to impart the necessary skills, lay the foundation for team building and ensure everyone in the Company, from Directors to Factory Operatives, were equipped for the essential culture change. Its (Consulting Principles) skills in achieving this essential communication at all levels were crucial, particularly with the practical installation of the first manufacturing cells.
The skills learned enabled employees to drive through and lead the essential changes to introduce more cells in additional areas.
Delivery extension : The Lean Manufacturing process has since been started at another facility. The results have far exceeded expectations and targets set by Consulting Principles. We are fully confident that in the very near future we will achieve the goal of World Class Manufacturing across all areas.
As part of our globalisation programme within the group, Consulting Principles assisted at the facility in Kansas, USA to introduce Lean Manufacturing technologies. Consulting Principles, along with a Senior Industrial Engineer from a UK facility spent a week analysing and recommending improvements to the Kansas manufacturing facility and assisted them in the start up phase for Lean Manufacturing introduction.
